START SAILING
(Level 1)
8 - 13 year olds who preferably have had some sailing or Get on Board (Give It A Go) experience.
Based around the YNZ Level 1 Start Sailing and some of the Level 2 Sail Faster courses. This course is for children 8+ who are ready to learn to sail independently as much of the sailing will take place in our single handed Opti boats. Learning rigging, capsize drill, boat handling in a fun environment.
In Opti’s in groups of 6 with an Instructor.
WHAT TO BRING
Togs & a towel
​
Waterproof jacket and clothes that can get wet
​
Water bottle, Sunscreen & Hat
​
Wetsuit (if you have one)
​
Beach /wet shoes to wear in the boat ( old trainers are good )
​
Warm change of clothes
We provide a helmet and a buoyancy aid but you are welcome to bring your own.
